It’s time to set up your free WordPress blog, or create a new category on your existing blog from Comm 130.

Instructions

1. BIO & WELCOME: Include the following in your first blog post:
SHORT BIO: Write at least two paragraphs (2-3 sentences in each paragraph) to welcome readers and introduce yourself. Tell us about yourself and include your experience with photography, image editing and Visual Communication.
PHOTO: Add a current photo of yourself.
PAST PHOTOS INFO: Write a paragraph (2-3 sentences) about your past photos and list any edits you added.

2. PAST PHOTOS: Add your top 5 – 10 images to show us your previous experience:
This is a nice way to document your level at the start of this course and share some of your personal photography skills from the past. Please size images so the long side is 1024 pixels, then insert the images at Large display size. See Week 1 > Photo Blog Instructions. This is your one chance to use old photos. After this, all photos you use in this course must be new images.

Submission:

-Do not submit until everything is complete. Once you submit, be sure NOT to change anything on your post, until after it is graded. Follow the Submission Instructions
-Submit blog post link to the WEB URL tab on Canvas.
-Before 9am Wednesday, choose your best photo (only one) from this project and add it to the correct Class Facebook album. NOTE: Go to Photos > Albums -- in the left upper column of the FB Group.

Rubric

NOTE: Meeting the minimum requirements is “average” and constitutes an 80% or B- grade, according to the University Grading Guide. To receive a higher grade, students should excel. However, quality and/or difficulty is more important than quantity.

√  SIZING: Photos sized to 1024 pixels on the long side. First part of jpeg filename is student’s name. Example: JakeSpencer-Tetons.jpg. Photos displayed at “Large” size in blog post, per instructions in Week 1 > Photo Blog Instructions. Photos are clickable.
INSTRUCTIONS: BIO includes 2 paragraphs with 2-3 sentences each; BIO includes past photo, editing, and visual comm experience; PHOTO of yourself included;  PAST PHOTO INFO: Paragraph with 2-3 sentences about past photos with info about edits

SUBMISSION: Link submitted was a true hyperlink and linked directly to the completed blog post and the screenshot was attached.

CAUTION: YOUR ASSIGNMENT IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL YOU SUBMIT A LINK TO IT HERE. However, you are allowed a one-time extension, if you choose to use your mulligan. Please read about it in the syllabus. We check your blog post for completion right at the deadline, so please do not add things later. Everything needs to be complete when you post the link.
