Instructions

1. PERPSECTIVE OF 12
A NEW PERSPECTIVE:  Capture a total of 12 quality images of the same subject with completely different vantage points, angles, focal lengths, depth of field, and leading lines. Be sure to have good variety. Some image should be extremely close up and some showing the whole scene from different angles. Try laying on the ground and shooting up for a new perspective.

2. PHOTOSHOP PROCESSING: Process all 12 images using the tutorials from Activity 4 Photoshop Skills as needed for portfolio-quality display. Take several texture images, then use one of your texture images to blend with one of your Perspective of 12 images. Use the Custom Images V.4. Blending Tips Tutorial to try blending modes and masking for an interesting effect.

3. DISPLAYING IMAGES IN BLOG
Choose some of your images to display large, and display the remaining images in one collage image.

Large Display: 3-7 of your 12 images, shown at large blog image size, sized to 1024 pixels on the long side.
Texture Blend: Include the original texture image in your blog post (thumbnail size is fine) and leave a note in the process about how you blended it with one or more of your images.
Collage:  Create a collage of your remaining images (ones you did not use for “Large Display” above). You may use the simple collage method in this Custom Images II. 10 Photo Collage tutorial for creating a collage of images in Photoshop. Just be sure when you are done with this tutorial, you save your full-size .psd for future editing. Then size your collage at 1024px on the long side and save it as a jpeg for your blog post.

ALTERNATE PS COLLAGE METHOD:  (a bit more time-consuming): Use a grid in Photoshop to create this collage; in Photoshop, go to View > New Guide Layout.

NOTE – NO MORE LABELS. You no longer need to list your f/stop and shutter speed labels, etc. (metadata) unless you want to ;).

4. SOCIAL MEDIA SHARING: Instagram

  • Post at least one of your Perspective of 12 images on Instagram.
  • Add your Instagram username to your introduction in our Facebook group. Go to Photos – Albums – INTROS.
  • Use this hashtag: #comm300.
  • Tag @visualcomm.photos on the image (not in the caption).
  • Search the #comm300 hashtag and view 6+ classmates’ Perspective of 12 image posts.
  • Leave comments on at least three classmates Instagram Perspective of 12 image posts.
